DIYs are fun in themselves but can be made much more fun by using recycled products. Making little changes in your surroundings can emit good vibes and cultivate a habit of recycling things on your own and make an eco friendly environment.
Below are 10 DIYs for you to make your house a recycled products exhibit.
Tin Can Lanterns
Canned food is definitely easy to make and delicious to eat, but what about that heap of thrown out cans? Take a can and punch holes in any way you wish to provide enough light to escape from the holes. Then place a lit candle inside the can and there you have it! A lantern made completely from recycled food cans.
Napkins are an essential part of the kitchen and dining area. Used for holding hot pans, wiping spilled food and multiple other odd jobs, these still demand to be looked upon as beautiful in spite of rough use. Gather some old unused clothes lying around. Make a mental note of the cloth combination you want to make the napkin with. Then, cut out the napkins in the desired size and sew them together inside out, while still leaving 1/4th of a side open. Then turn the napkin out the correct way and use something similar to a drumstick to push the corners out. Now sew the remaining part and enjoy cooking with your new homemade napkins.
Plastic Bottle Pots
Every breath of air is refreshing when you are surrounded by tall trees smiling warmly at you. Although this is not possible on a daily basis, unless you plan to live the rest of your peaceful life in a forest, you can still make your miniature fresh air manufacturing unit in your living room. Cut used plastic bottles into halves and fill them up with soil up to the brim. Now place a small plant inside, which wouldn’t grow more than the bottle itself. Plants like the English Ivy or the Indian Basil are apt for growing indoors. Now you can either hang them from the ceiling or place them someplace sunny and relish every breath of fresh air and gaze upon the beauty of these tiny florae.
Create a cover for your egg beater and say goodbye to messy aprons. Take a Leaf Basket plate and drill two holes bigger in size than your egg beater. Place the beater through the holes and drop the plates down towards the bowl end. This acts as a cover for you from being splashed by the cake mix or eggs that you’re mixing.
DIY All-Purpose Cleaner
Nowadays, one can find every kind of cleaner in the endless aisles of supermarkets. While most of us grab one of every kind, little do we realize that we can make the most effective one right at home with just a simple household ingredient. Vinegar mixed with water has the unstoppable power to clean anything from stained kitchen counters to smudged mirrors. The downside is the unbearable stench of vinegar lingering in the house, but this can be eliminated by adding a drop of essential oils to the mix.
Pebble Hot Pads
Buying hot pads are almost an unnecessary expense. Instead, collect smooth different colored pebbles and glue them with a glue gun to a mousepad. Now you can place a kettle of boiling hot water on your maple wood dining table without any hesitation.
Whatever nature provides can be useful in one or the other way. It is up to us humans to find unique and creative ways to use every single thing for various deeds to eco-friendly use. Churn out your creative juice and create marvels in your home this new year.
